The Genocide Awareness Project made its way on to the Northern Arizona University (NAU) campus this October, in honor of Respect Life Month. The exhibit was hosted by NAU Students for Life, and is a project of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.
The display shows graphic photos of aborted fetuses, and compares modern-day abortions to forms of genocide that are easily recognizable. This very graphic display purposely shows these images and comparisons so that students can see the reality of abortion; what it does to babies, how it affects women, and how it is no different than other forms of genocide that have occurred throughout the world.
NAU Students for Life and the Genocide Awareness Project were immediately met by opposition. Students from groups like the Young Democrats and Associated Students for Women's Issues (ASWI) set up a table handing out condoms and attempted to teach students about "safe sex", a popular term that is untruthful in itself.
